aether is for everyone, but the service you book depends on your airline

aether, the Private Terminal exclusively at Manchester Airport, is an experience for everyone regardless of ticket class, offering an effortless airport experience in a thoughtfully designed, private space. However, the type of aether service you book, and the baggage you can travel with, depends on your airline carrier.

Flying out of aether with checked baggage

Flying out of aether with checked baggage is only possible if you’re travelling with one of our Partner Airlines.

As part of this aether service, your aether Host will weigh and tag your baggage when you arrive, before putting it through security screening. You must make sure you pack your checked baggage in line with your airline’s requirements on size, weight and restricted items.

Once your baggage has been screened, our team will ensure that it is safely transported to your aircraft so you can sit back and enjoy your Private Terminal experience.

Our airline partners

We have already partnered with some of the world’s largest airlines to offer as many passengers as possible the opportunity to travel through aether with checked baggage. Our current airline partners for checked baggage are as follows: British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Hainan Airlines, SAS, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Atlantic.

We will be adding more airlines as we prepare to open aether, so if yours isn’t currently listed, keep checking our Partner Airlines page.

Flying into aether with checked baggage

There are no airline restrictions when arriving into aether - if you wish to arrive into aether with checked baggage, you can do so on any scheduled flight in to Manchester Airport.

Flying out of or into aether with cabin baggage

If you’re travelling with cabin baggage only, you can depart from or arrive into aether on any scheduled flight. You must make sure you pack your cabin baggage in line with your airline’s requirements on size, weight and restricted items. When it’s time to go through security screening your aether Host will invite you into the private security channel where your bag will be screened.

With twilight check-in, you can travel with checked baggage with a non-partner airline

Some airlines at Manchester Airport offer twilight check-in, where you can check your bags in the evening before for certain morning flights. Using twilight check-in for your checked baggage could mean that you can then book and enjoy the aether cabin baggage service.

You will need to check whether you can use twilight check-in before booking your aether service. For more information on twilight check-in, see easyJet, Jet2, Ryanair and TUI.

You can prebook your aether experience for travel from Monday November 4. Keep checking back as we grow our list of partner airlines in the coming months.
